Have you as a musician, writer, or performer wanted to perform on a stage in front of thousands of people? If you are a graduating senior, you have an opportunity to audition to perform at Fossil Ridge High School’s 2023-2024 graduation.
Seniors are invited each year to showcase their talents at graduation. Performances range from singing, playing an instrument, reciting poetry or writing, and in some cases, dances. Group performances or accompaniment is allowed but everyone participating needs to be a graduating senior.
Last year’s graduation had two performances: Steven Nguyen sung “My Way” by Frank Sinatra and John Hebert played his original song “Memories to the Future” on piano.
Performers will be judged based on their clarity, pitch, expression, stage presence, and appropriateness.
Ms. Felske, Ms. Mcgowen, and Mr. Nye are the main administrators who oversee the audition process along with the help of the senior class officers. Auditions will begin in April with exact dates and times being determined by the senior officers.
The judge panel will consist of the four senior officers and four staff members. In the past the staff members have been two administrative staff, one usually being Mr. Nye, someone from the music department, and another staff member. All eight judges must be at all audition times to ensure a fair audition for all participating.
If you are interested in auditioning for one of two performance spots at graduation on May 25th, please use the Sign-Up Genius link to select a five-minute timeslot. Audition days are April 22 from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. and April 23 from 4:10 p.m. to 4:45 p.m..
