Neo Shaffer, Staff Writer
Neo Shaffer is a senior at Fossil Ridge High School. They are an open and fun person who surrounds themself with their friends. They were born in Louisiana and moved out to Colorado at the age of nine. They have a brother and sister along with a snake and three cats.
Shaffer is a part of Fossil Ridge’s different bands, such as marching, jazz, and percussion. Out of them all, Shaffer has the most fun with percussion ensemble.
They have enjoyed this during their time at Fossil and will continue outside of high school as they plan to be a music major.
To Shaffer, journalism is a fun take on writing compared to regular English classes. They enjoy the connections with real world topics and people. A side to journalism they like exploring is podcasts. Another class Shaffer is enjoying is their new pottery class and they try out different art classes when they can.
Shaffer has been accepted to Colorado State University and is preparing for music auditions. Their dream is to be a percussion instructor and, similar to their current percussion instructor, they hope to teach at a high school.
