Many students and staff throughout Fossil Ridge High School know Candie Joshi as the secretary for the College and Career Center (CCC). However, Joshi is not only a valuable resource at the CCC, but also an effervescent person that is appreciated throughout Fossil and the greater community.
Angela Iverson, who recently began her position of Fossil’s Work Based Learning Coordinator, works alongside Joshi, and describes her as “super kind, upbeat and willing to help in any way she can.”
After living in Colorado, Joshi attended Arizona State University (ASU) where she studied computer information systems. From there, she worked for Boeing in IT for 10 years, afterwards moving back to Colorado.
Joshi is a mom of five children, whom she had when she moved back to Colorado. Four of her children have graduated high school, which Joshi remarked as “useful” in her role of helping students through their college and graduation processes.
“I think it’s a really exciting time in your life when you’re graduating high school and looking to see what’s next,” Joshi said. “It’s just a fun thing to be part of.”

Before starting her current secretary position, Joshi volunteered her time helping out with school and extracurricular events in the Thompson School District, where her kids attended.
When her youngest of five children started high school, Joshi decided to apply for the position of CCC Secretary.
”This is the perfect job for me, but I didn’t even know what I was applying for…but this is so much fun, and I got really lucky,” Joshi explained.
Outside of work, Joshi enjoys spending time with her family and reading. One of her favorite activities to do with her family is hiking.
