It’s time for registration, and each year, students register for classes that will determine their future. Here are some of the new classes at Fossil.
AP Cybersecurity A/B
AP Cybersecurity is a hands-on course that teaches students how to protect information systems. Students learn to identify threats, reduce risks, and improve security through real-world situations, labs, and projects.
Financial Literacy
Students will learn financial skills like budgeting, saving, and managing credit, understanding income, loans, and education costs, and protecting financial information, and apply these in real-life experiences.
Guitar II
Guitar II focuses on advanced skills and music theory. Students learn scales, intervals, triads, and perform music from blues, popular rock, and heavy metal genres.
Medical Forensics
This course introduces medical forensics and builds skills, analysis, and problem-solving. Students will explore topics such as lab safety, toxicology, pathology, anthropology, blood splatter analysis, and other techniques in health science.
FRCC Basketball
This course focuses on basketball and improving skills. Students will learn the rules of offensive and defensive techniques, shooting, passing, dribbling, teamwork and game strategies.
Medical Math
This course helps students apply math skills that are used in healthcare, including calculations involving temperature, weight, and measurement.
Introduction to Biotechnology A/B
This course introduces students through hands-on lab work. Students study molecular biology topics such as DNA, proteins, gene expression, and genetic engineering while gaining experience with techniques like DNA sequencing, protein purification, and developing scientific communication skills.
