Avery Smith is a senior at Fossil  Ridge High School. Smith was born in Arizona but raised in Northern Colorado. Smith lives with her two parents and her younger sister Mia. Smith is a first-year Etched in Stone staff writer, and she joined the team because she loves interviewing people and hearing stories from the community. Smith loves Fossil; her favorite classes are Science and Anatomy, which have influenced her to pursue these after high school.    

For fun, Smith loves hanging out with her friends, working out, and baking. Smith is a two-year dancer for Fossil, where they qualified for state every year. Her favorite sports teams are the Denver Broncos and the Arizona State Sun Devils. She loves being active outdoors with her family and friends and enjoys long walks and car rides. 

In the future, Smith plans to go back to her home state of Arizona for college, where she plans to study Nursing at Arizona State. Smith wants to study Nursing with the end goal of becoming a licensed esthetician and opening her own clinic somewhere warm. She hopes to be a successful entrepreneur and have a large family when she is older.
