The quiet gym fills with the hum of the voices of hundreds of eighth graders from middle schools around the district as they approach to learn more about the activities that will soon define their future.

On the mornings of April 28-29, Fossil hosted its yearly “Incoming Ninth Grade Visit Days,” in which students from Kinard, Preston, and other middle schools who are planning on attending Fossil in the fall are introduced to the school.

The day featured a pep assembly, a tour of the school led by Fossil Ambassadors, and a Club Rush, in which the students visited booths to learn more about the opportunities they will have regarding various sports, clubs, and activities.

At the booths, students expressed a variety of emotions surrounding the transition from middle to high school, as well as their hopes and plans for the coming school year.
