Acting and punching her way through life, Harper Bovberg, sophomore at Fossil Ridge, does boxing and theatre lessons outside of school. In school, Bovberg has tried and attended many clubs, but has decided to stick with one. FBLA is a club that teaches new skills to all members, including Bovberg. “I enjoy the practical skills the clubs provides and the real world applications” said Boverg.
Not being involved in many school activities means more time for Bovberg’s favorite hobbies. Bovberg has been boxing at Title Boxing for two years and enjoys it because she can punch and kick things and it’s acceptable. “I am much more active outside of school than inside of school, and I avoid all physical exercise that doesn’t allow me to punch things” said Boverg. She is also planning on joining the FBI after finishing school.
Other than boxing and the FBI, Bovberg is interested in theatre and has been performing with the Debut Theatre for six years. She has participated in countless shows throughout her years with the theater, and has performed on many stages including the Lincoln Performing Arts Center in downtown Fort Collins, CO. Being devoted to theatre includes some restrictions, however, that Bovberg has experienced throughout her acting career. “Because I act, what I can do to my appearance is very limited. If I didn’t, you can bet I would have purple hair by now”.
She calls herself a nerd, and mentions how she enjoys her AP Human Geography Class, reading books, and puzzle games. Bovberg also enjoys reading books like gritty fantasy like The Broken Empire or books like Edgar Allen Poe, “I love words, the world created in the book. I enjoy being part of someone’s story and books are always present when you need them. But, the internet is, of course, the best time killer there is and I have wasted many hours on YouTube”.
