Paige Otto is a junior at Fossil this year. She likes a variety of things such as hiking, movies, and going to concerts. At school, she loves classes relating to the social sciences, such as AP Human Geography. She has been on Student Council since her freshman year and is super involved at Fossil. Otto has not only been on student council but also recently elected to be the Vice President of Student council. The school events she most looks forward to are Ridge Games and Homecoming. Her favorite event to plan is Homecoming because it reaches the largest group of students; when she planned it her sophomore year she felt like it was a very rewarding experience.
Otto is also involved in the theatre program here at Fossil. She acted in last year’s musical Honk, as well as Our Town, and will be in West Side Story coming up this spring. Otto is in Key Club and NHS as well. With all those activities Paige has to use a personal assistant app to help her budget her time. She likes having lots of extracurriculars because it gives her a much needed break between school and homework. According to Otto “It’s all about prioritizing and asking for help when I need it.”
Since she is so involved here at Fossil and sees many different aspects of it, when asked about the culture of it Otto wishes that the grades were more unified, but at the same time she sees passion behind everything Fossil kids do. “We just have great resources for everything and there are so many opportunities. Everything that everybody does they are one hundred percent committed, like knowledge bowl and all these things that you wouldn’t normally think about and that is their life and I think that is so cool.”
