Fossil tennis team wins against rocky

The Fossil Ridge High School tennis team won big on Tuesday, September 20 against Rocky Mountain High School. Senior, Trenton Vibbard from Rocky, competed first against Fossil senior, Jackson Holland. Holland won the first set 6-4. However, Vibbard hit back hard winning the second set 6-4. The final set was won by Vibbard ending the first singles match 6-3.

The second and third singles matches were won by Fossil’s senior, Arjun Gupta and freshman, Akhil Gupta. Arjun went against Rocky’s senior, Jonny Titelbaum. Both sets were won by Arjun with him ending each set 6-1. Gupta won the first set 6-2 against Xavier Edgren, senior at Rocky. His second set ended with him shutting out Edgren 6-0.

The first doubles match was Fossil tennis senior team captains, Tim Sunset and Charlie Johnson. Both preformed magnificent, winning against Alex Fleischman and Wesley Thompson, sophomores at Rocky, 6-0 in both sets. Not giving them a single edge.

The second doubles was played by Drew Schneider and Evan Diehl, juniors at Fossil, against Ben Thompson and Trae Chudacoff, sophomores at Rocky. The first set resulted in Fossil winning 6-2. The second set was won by Fossil 6-1.

Aaron Hargis and Cameron Salz, seniors at Fossil, took charge of the third doubles making it an exciting game to spectate. Noah Sorensen and Andrew Teck, seniors at Rocky, played a well game resulting in the first set ending 6-4, and the second ending 7-6, giving Salz and Hargis the win.

The final match was played by Fossil senior, Brandon Krzyszkowski and sophomore, Tyler Li. Their opponents were Rocky juniors, Nathan Sundstedt and Joe Rademacher. The first set was won by Krzyszkowski and Li 6-2. The last set for the Sabercats was won 6-0 by both Fossil players.
