Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was vandalized before dawn Wednesday, October 26 on video by a man who identified himself as Jamie Otis. He claims to have been trying to remove the star intact and have it auctioned off to raise funds for the women who have accused Trump of sexual assault.
Dressed as construction worker, Otis fooled passersby by setting up cones and striking up conversation with the person filming it on their cell phone, but failed to mention why he decided simply to vandalize it with a sledge hammer and pickaxe as opposed to removing it. He was gone before officials reached the scene at 9:19 am. Trump has yet to comment on the vandalism.
This is not the first time Trump’s star has been vandalized, shares USA Today. “It has been vandalized multiple times since Trump launched his bid for the presidency. In the past year, it’s been spray-painted with a backward swastika and mute symbol. The most ambitious incident occurred in July when a street artist built a wall around it, complete with concertina wire and miniature flags.”
In the recent past, several women have claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the candidate, to which he’s said, “Nobody has more respect for women than I do — nobody…and frankly, those stories have been largely debunked.” Trump plans to sue the women speaking out against him after his campaign has come to an end.
