It was a big night for the Sabercats as they finished with their second upset of the tournament, defeating Lincoln 1-0. Jaime Chavarria scored the game winning goal for the Sabercats in the first five minutes of the game with an assist from Blair Durand.

“One of my friends had the expectation that we win and I score, I was ecstatic that I fulfilled those expectations,” commented Chavarria.

Their win advances them into the quarterfinals on Saturday, November 5, a position in the state tournament that the Fossil team hasn’t been in since 2009. The Sabercats will go on to play Arapahoe High School who is ranked No. 6. Wish the boys luck as they look to continue their run in state.
