Squealing with excitement

The month of December means holiday lights and smelly science hallways. The week of the fifth, Pre AP Biology classes of Fossil Ridge High School dissected fetal pigs. Students perform the dissection as a part of their anatomy unit to enrich their understanding of the inner workings of the human body.

Biology teacher Mrs. Geisler said, “Students feel one of two ways; they either love it or they hate it. Nobody’s neutral about pig dissections. But once they start it they do like doing all the hands on stuff.  This is a great experience that Fossil has as a sort of entry level anatomy project. It leads them into anatomy and BMZ classes that they can take later on in high school.”
