Who are your homecoming royalty?

One of the biggest traditions surrounding Homecoming is the crowning of the King and Queen. The school gets together and votes who they want to rule over the school. This year’s winners were Yoni Ephraim and Neva Hubbert. But do you really know your Homecoming Royalty? I sat down with each of them and found some things out that many may not know. How do the King and Queen live their daily lives? What makes them fit to be royalty? EIS has all of your school celebrity questions, answered.

Q: How did you feel when you won King/Queen? Were you surprised?

A: Yoni- I was actually pretty surprised. It was a really cool feeling. My friend from Rocky made me a Facebook page trying to promote people to vote for me. I definitely think that that helped. Remember, #YONI2012!

Neva- I was really surprised that I won. I didn’t really expect to win because I’m not on STUCO or anything, but it was really awesome that I won. I feel so loved by my peers!

Q: What do you think makes you fit to be royalty?

A: Yoni- You definitely have to be social. People have to like you. I think I’m a pretty likeable guy.

Neva- I just talk to a bunch of different people. I don’t really belong to any specific group of friends. I like meeting new people and I think talking to all different kinds of people makes life more interesting.

Q: Take me through the daily routine of the royal life.

A: Yoni- Well, I wake up and go to school where I chill in my throne and text people on my brand new iPhone 5. I also have hired junior fanners—shout out to Cameron Rudd and Lindsey Feuer. Because, you know, the school gets hot. And then I go home and eat a meal fit for a king!

Neva: Well, every morning when I wake up, I have to have my crown fit to my head circumference because my hair is so cray. Then I go to school and get straight A’s. At lunch time, I have my food catered for me from Café Mexicali. They know just what I like. After school, I go and hang out with artists like Coldplay and Tiesto. They help me throw major parties. You know how it is.

Q: How do you keep your loyal subjects in line?

A: Yoni- Well, I’ve had to hire a lot of security, but that hasn’t worked so well. We’re still working out the kinks with that.

Neva- Whips and fairy dust.

Q: If you really could rule the school, what would you change or put in place?

A: Yoni- I would put vending machines in every classroom. Let’s face it, we all get hungry in class.

Neva: Five-star dining in the lunch room, and make things more affordable for my subjects so more of them could attend my events.

It sounds like these two have very busy lives and many responsibilities as King and Queen. Think you made a good choice? Hail the King and Queen of Fossil Ridge!
