Add/Drop adds new changes

Fossil Ridge High School offers the opportunity each semester to add or drop classes, but within the last years add/drop has caused apparent problems. Such problems include students unable to get into their necessary classes, or even students arriving at the school well before the add/drop takes place.

On Thursday, November 29, Fossil counselor Matt Murphy sent an  email to school staff informing them about the upcoming changes to be made to add/drop that are to be addressed in advisory. Add/drop forms will still require a parent signature, but the forms will only be available in the North Wing office. The new forms will be available December 4 before school, during lunch, after school, and during late start. Classes still have a cap on the amount of students that be on the roster, the same as it has been in the past. One of the largest changes is that there is a limit of forms per grade level, and a time for the corresponding grade to show up.

The add/drop changes can help prevent students showing up before sunrise, and help students who need changes to their schedule to fit their graduation requirements. This is a new system for add/drop that may change the biannual chaos into an event that could be more productive in helping students.
