Boys close out regular season with two wins
On Tuesday night, February 13, the Fossil Ridge boys basketball team took on Mountain Range at home, in their second-to-last league game of the 2017-18 season. After a nail biting four quarters, the game went into overtime, and the Cats took a (55-53) win.
Tonight, February 14, the boys played Northglenn High School, and were able to pull out a (50-46) win over the Norsemen. Those two wins conclude their regular season play, and the team finished third in the 5A Front Range League standings with an (8-4-0) record.
The boys are looking to make a deep run in playoffs after having been knocked out in the first round last year, and they couldn’t be more hungry for another win. Fossil will be saying goodbye to a handful of seniors: Sam Osius, Brandon Lambrecht, Dylan Whittall, Garrett Ripsam, Blake Bodnar, Dylan Ellis, Calvin Marley, and Ben Weiner. Ripsam stated, “I’m feeling good going into playoffs, we just have to keep doing what we have practiced all year. This year has meant so much me because I got to compete against some of the best teams in the state with my best friends, but we aren’t done yet; I think we have a few more games left in us.”
