Fossil Ridge students are invited to see Solo: A Star Wars Story on Thursday, May 24, at 7:30pm. The Academic Council has reserved an entire theater at the Timberline Cinemark for a private and early screening of the movie. Tickets can be purchased at the fees window or online with school pay and are $13 per person. Tickets will be hand-delivered in early May.

It will not only be students at the screening, as parents and staff members are also joining in on the fun. Mr. Pfeifer, who is the head of Academic Council, believes that many of students will show up to the movie, “we have 240 seats to fill and in the past we’ve always sold out the theater for the Star Wars movies.” With other popular movies coming out, Mr. Pfeifer chose Solo: A Star Wars Story because, “Star Wars has a great following. Math and science people kinda get into movies like that so that’s where it started, with the Math Honors Society and now it’s a tradition. Every time there’s a Star Wars movie we buy a theater and hope to fill it.” Mr. Pfeifer himself is a huge fan of the franchise, having put up posters in his classroom. “Probably half of the kids from the Math Honors Society have bought tickets so far.” said Pfeifer.

Star Wars has become a large franchise after its first movie, Episode IV – A New Hope was released in 1977. Solo: A Star Wars Story indulges the watcher even more, revealing the account of Hans Solo and Chewbacca becoming close friends. If you are interested, do not be afraid to buy a ticket for the entertaining night. “The Force be with you. Always.”
