Breaking: PSD schools will be closed next Friday

All Poudre School District schools will be closed Friday, April 27, due to “an excessive number of staff absences”, according to an email from Superintendent Sandra Smyser. The day will be recorded as a teacher and staff workday without students.
Smyser explained in an email to all staff that the decision was made because more than one thousand staff members have put in for paid leave on the 27th. She “decided the safety of children will be compromised if we hold school without appropriate adult supervision in the building.”
Many teachers from across Colorado will be participating in a Day of Action, marching at the state Capitol building to show their support for new school funding legislation.
Fossil Ridge High School’s planned Lip Dub has been moved to Monday, April 30. That day will be a normal Friday schedule.
