Jazz Band Showcase Their Skills
On Thursday, May 3, Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 put on show as a collective band in the Performing Arts Center. The show showcased all the hard work and dedication that the band had put into the year.
The concert began by showcasing the percussion through some fast and hard-hitting tunes. One of the main focuses of the jazz band was to utilize many different types of instruments. After the percussionists finished, Jazz 1 went on and played their pieces. Jazz 1 had a range of instruments used in their pieces including the piano, saxophone, and trumpets. Jazz 2 played after Jazz 1 finished playing and, like the other bands, killed their pieces. Rylan Tasa said, “I liked the environment and how everyone got along.”
All of the hard work that was put into their pieces was very clearly shown through the quality as well dynamics. The band showed their ability to handle complex music and perform it well.
