Sabercats continue to climb towards playoffs
Going low for a save
Mid-way through their season the Fossil Ridge High School volleyball team beat Boulder High School following two weeks of crosstown rivalry games. Currently ranked number 2 in the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Class 5A the Fossil Ridge High School volleyball team easily beat Boulder on Tuesday, September 25.
The first set was a sweep and Fossil dominated the court with their powerful spikes and nearly impenetrable blocks. After the Panthers hit it out once again the Sabercats took the set 25-9, which boosted Sabercat confidence but lowered their actual attitude of the game.
Both the second and third sets Fossil continued to make amateur mistakes and lowered their defensive communication. Although both sets were won by the Sabercats who took the second set 25-18 and third set 25-9, the team played with less ambition and professionalism than they usually do. Despite their impressive ranking, the team who stepped onto the court for this game was not the team who played Fort Collins and Rocky Mountain High School.
Next time the girls play will be against Poudre High School Thursday, September 27 at Poudre starting at 6:30 P.M. Come see the Sabercats play their final crosstown rivalry game to see if they will claim City Champions.
