In a tight game against Bruins, Stars lose

Cherry Creek continues to dominate in hockey, unfortunately at the cost of the Stars. Friday January 26, the Stars went against the Bruins in a home game at NoCo Ice Center.

This 2024 season several Sabercats compose the team such as Adam Aldridge, Matthew Aldridge, Marek Bellus, Daniel Campbell, Phoenix Dahlseide, Calvin Higa, Vincent Hasara, Braeden Kerr, Austin Kremer, Brayden Kremer, Ryan MacKenzie, Danny Madlener, Jackson Siegel, Conner Sledz, Charlie Wicklund, and Matt Yunker.

The Stars took the game as its own in the first period of the game, Kerr gaining the first point for his team with an assist from teammate Haden Williamson. The game was in the Stars’ favor and The Bruins were not able to score a point for the rest of the seventeen-minute period.

Yet in the second period, Cherry Creek came back harder and scored two back-to-back points. The Stars were still in the game and swiped another goal past the Bruins goalie making the score 2-3. All the Stars needed was one more point to tie the game but Cherry Creek would not let Fossil score again.

The score remained the same throughout the third period, neither team able to get the puck past the goalie. Despite a valiant effort, the Stars received another loss, making their overall record 7-4-1 (seven wins, four losses, and one tie).

They play next against Denver East who has eight wins this Friday February 2 at 8:00 p.m. at NoCo Ice Center, and this game will feature the graduating athletes for their Senior Night.
