There’s lightness in the air when talking to or being around Olivia Jones. The varsity field hockey player and Harry Potter fan can say she’s seen a lot in her life. She was a miracle baby and was born 13 weeks early, and has undergone plenty of surgeries in her lifetime. One operation including laser eye surgery to alleviate a condition called retinopathy of prematurity, where a severe hit on the head could potentially cause her to go blind. After surviving two hurricanes during her time living in Orlando, and attending a school that had no hallways, she now spends her Colorado free time visiting boulder or Old Town Fort Collins to watch and photograph the street performers, or listening to music by bands such as 30 Seconds to Mars and Of Monsters and Men. Whether being with her for minutes or hours, spending time with Jones truly reveals the kind of person she is, which on any bottom line, is sincere, talented and all-around warmhearted.
