Fossil Ridge High School will lose a longtime member of the FRHS family soon, the Dean of Students Mr. Wulff. He will be leaving mid-year and relocating with his family to Dallas, Texas because his wife got a new job there. It is still unknown who will replace Mr. Wulff.
“Change is inevitable so you can either fight it or embrace it,” said Wulff when asked about how he felt about moving. Wulff does like Texas more than he thought he would, despite missing the snow and ski season. He is not looking forward to the, “baking hot summers”.
Mr. Wulff has been here for five years and his job is handling attendance and discipline, conflict resolution, as well as academic support. “[That] everyday was different. It’s always interesting and always unique; ever situation is different from another,” said Wulff when asked about his favorite part of the job. “Whether it’s meetings, bullying situations, or discipline.”
Some of his favorite moments from his years in FRHS were the daily interactions with students, watching students graduate, and seeing students overcome adversity. “Seeing kids face hardship and being able to work through it, and come out in a better place. It’s very rewarding,” said Wulff.
As for the next chapter in his life, Wulff is unsure what the outcome will be. He hopes to continue to work with students, and he’s looking forward to the adventure. No matter what happens, he hopes to work with high school students because that’s been his passion since he was young and wanted to be a teacher.
