The FRHS One Act were a hit for the Fossil audience. With two out of three shows sold out, it’s no doubt that these plays had quite a success among the FRHS crowd. The three plays that were performed were: Ways to Screw up a College Interview ( a comedy), Flowers for Algernon (drama),and Check Please (comedy).
The actors as well as directors spent plenty of time practicing for these short plays.
Leah Baechle, junior and actor in Check Please said, “We’ve had rehearsals since December and have been staying everyday after school to practice.”
Although many actors in One Acts have had a lot of experience in performing plays, you don’t have to have a lot of theater practice to act in these school plays.
Chris Goodwin, junior at FRHS said, “There is a lot of diversity [in the One Acts]. You don’t have to be an actor to do it.”
The directors also had a big responsibility to make sure the actors, set, and design for the play were perfect.
Jackson Bailey, senior at FRHS and director of Flowers for Algernon said, “It’s the responsibility for the directors to have their own vision of what the play should look like and create it based on that.”
The plays had a lot of success and the time that was put into each play can be seen clearly in the performance from the actors.
