The Nick Seaman 5K will be on April 26. Registration will start at 7:30 in the morning and the 5K will start at 8:30. It costs $15 for students to register and $25 for non-students, which includes a t-shirt, a breakfast burrito from Johnson Quarter and “the satisfaction of knowing that the money is going for a good cause,” said Mr. Rasumussen, an English teacher at Fossil Ridge High school. The kid’s race will start at 8:00. “It’s really cute,” said Mr. Rasmussen. “Little kids come out and run as fast as they can.” Runners can register in advance through RamStrength here.
The 5K is in the memory of Nick Seaman, a former teacher at FRHS who passed away in 2011 from testicular cancer. All of the proceeds of the run go back to Ranstrength, a non-profit organization which benefits people who are impacted by cancer in the community.
