City Council member and elected official of District 3 in Fort Collins, Gino Campana, will be presenting Fossil’s Model United Nations club on Cable 14, the city of Fort Collins government access television channel, in order to spread awareness about the only MUN club in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Turn to Channel 14, this Tuesday at 6 p.m. Mountain Time, to watch the televised city council meeting about the Councils schedule along with other Legislative Body meetings, and an announcement about Fossil’s MUN.
“Model United Nations is a great opportunity for students to learn more about global issues today. I wanted to raise awareness for people to support the unique club,” stated Campana.
Students in Model United Nations role-play as member states’ ambassadors, negotiating compromises, and drafting resolutions on worldwide issues. After researching issues on the United Nations agenda, students come together to learn cooperation and conflict resolution.
As the only MUN club in Fort Collins, members of the club at Fossil Ridge High School are in need of support and recognition. With national conferences and host conferences in the future, Fossil’s MUN is working hard to fundraise for the national conference that will be held in Boston and Canada. Students are also preparing accordingly for their host conference which will take place at Fossil Ridge, in the month of January 2016.
