The three Fossil girls basketball teams were successful in Gillette, Wyoming for a pre-season tournament. Varsity went 1-2 beating Rock Springs and fall short to Rapid City Central and Gillette. JV went 2-1 beating Rapid City Central and Rock Springs but lost to Gillette. Finally, the C team went 1-1 beating Rapid City Central and losing to Gillette. The tournament was a great team bonding experience and Bruce Holbert, the C team head coach commented, “This is the closest the three teams have ever been in the five years under this coaching staff.” The tournament also allowed the sabercats to get an idea of the competition for this year’s season by watching the other teams play each other.
