Guilty pleasure? “I enjoy ice cream too much.”

What is something about you most people don’t know?  “I’m not from Colorado.”

If you could meet anyone who would it be? “Darrell Hobbs he’s such an amazing guy and it would be such an honor to meet him.”

Kiara Ogden is a North Dakota native who moved to Colorado last year when her father’s job was transferred. This junior stays involved at Fossil by playing for the girls’ basketball team and attending as many school events as she can. She has not quite set her mind on a destination to further her education after high school, but she does know who she wants to be as an adult. She wants to be a good mother, that is her ultimate goal.. Her own mom has always taught her right from wrong and she hopes to be as great a mother one day. She has always wanted to grow up and have children, although she does want to become a professional, she wants to be a mother even more.

She would describe herself as kind, outgoing and “likes to have a lot of fun.” and would love to study skin after high school, hopefully becoming an esthetician. An esthetician is described by dictionary.com as “A person who is knowledgeable about the nature and appreciation of beauty, especially in art.” A person who focuses on the beauty of the human skin. It is considered a branch of cosmetology that helps to give advice on skin, skin treatments and care. It is considered a trade and thus Kiara would attend a trade school after high school where she can learn more about cosmetology,  skin and other things that have to do with beauty and care. She does not want to leave Colorado, considering the fact that she has not lived here for an extended period of time, and because she has siblings younger and older who live in the Fort Co

Describing her family as “crazy, big and loud” Ms. Ogden would describe her perfect weekend spent on the lake with her older sister, two younger siblings, parents and her friends.  She says the best part about being Kiara is “that I’m my own person and no one else is just like me.”  She looks most forward to becoming her own person after high school, starting a family and moving out on her own.

Drinking tea and taking naps helps Kiara to relax, but with basketball season in full swing it’s a hard time to. This varsity player loves her team and how close they have become not just as on the court but as a family. With Christmas around the corner Kiara is ecstatic to have her niece just weeks away from being born and cannot wait to continue her junior year at Fossil Ridge.
