Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos were handed their first loss on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, ruining their hopes of an undefeated regular season. In the 27-24 loss, Manning fell 3 yards short of becoming the NFL’s career passing leader.
The Colts looked as good as they’ve looked all season with Andrew Luck finally playing as he was expected for the year. The Broncos, on the other hand, didn’t look good at all.
Denver’s defense, full of talent, has been notorious for saving the day throughout this season, but on Sunday they struggled. From stopping Aaron Rodgers and a strong Packer’s offense, they gave the Colts a 17-0 lead just in the first half.
Indianapolis came out on top due to a lack of penalties from them (only 4), no turnovers, and their strong start and finish.
Peyton heads into next week’s game against Kansas City with 71,836 career yards; Brett Favre had 71,838. Although breaking the all-time record and getting a win would have been ideal, he will have the chance to do it in Denver this Sunday.
