Key Club, a nationwide service based club, is founded by Kiwanis, a leadership service organization. The mission statement is “Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.”
This club is found in all 4 Fort Collins Poudre School District schools, but in Fossil Ridge High School, the club meets on Tuesdays during B Lunch in the roundhouse, where they discuss events you can sign up for and that help out the community.
Mackenzie Young, a sophomore at Fossil, has done numerous events for Key Club, including helping out at the “Bacon Bulldog Blitz”, which is Bacon Elementary School’s Fall Festival, and helping with an event with March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization raising awareness and money for babies born prematurely.
A member of Key Club will complete a minimum of 30 hours by the end of the year, at least 20 of those being events through key club, but the rest can be through an independent source. However, Key Club orchestrates a ton of events and achieving those hours is not difficult.
If you wish to help out around Fort Collins, Key Club is a wonderful way to get more involved in the community and help out wherever needs it.
