The cast lists are out, and rehearsals will soon begin for the senior one-acts. Fossil’s black box performance dates are January 14th, 15th and 16th at 7pm. Tickets for the shows are $5 and will be available on www.showtixs4u.com as show dates approach.
The Girl in The Mirror, directed by M Brown and Ryan Wilke-Braun, is about a seventeen year old girl who tries to commit suicide. It is portrayed from the girl’s point of view and delves into how people tend to misunderstand depression and overlook other people’s’ feelings.
The second one-act, Murder at the Prom, is directed by Libby Rose and Joanna Walker and consists of a night of love and murder. Starting with a date to the prom, students are mysteriously dropping dead, and the characters try to uncover the identity of the murderer among the mostly likely suspects.
The final one-act will be Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, directed by Tara Spencer and Sean Wilke-braun. Two narrators, played by Alec Larner and Sophie Contino, attempt to recreate all 209 of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. To make it more exciting and complex, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella are combined into one fairytale, as well as lesser known characters like Lean Lisa and The Devil’s Grandmother.
