The Fossil Ridge High School varsity cheer team competes at state the weekend of December 11th. On Friday, December 11th, the team participates in the state prelims, if they advance past the prelims, they will compete in the finals on December 12th at the Denver Coliseum.
Throughout the fall season, the team has experienced some setbacks. During one of their competitions, two girls on the team got injured, preventing the team from participating in events they were ready to perform in. Yet despite all the setbacks, the team has been very successful in their competitions this year. In particular, at their league competition, the team got first place in districts as well as first place in the overall league category.
“We have been putting in so many extra hours preparing for state. We usually have practice for two and a half hours everyday after school just to get extra time perfected our routine. I think we have a good shot at placing in sate” said Bailey Coker, a senior varsity cheer captain.
Come out and support the cheer team during their prelims and final competitions for state!
