Humans of Fossil: Caden Keate

[slideshow_deploy id=’12630′]

Caden Keate, a sophomore at Fossil Ridge High School, is really passionate about being in the mountains, mountain biking and skiing.  When he gets free time, he is always up in the mountains whether it’s during the winter or the summer.  “I love to be out doing adventurous things that give you a rush of energy and adrenaline.  Mountain biking is probably one of my favorite things to do”  said Keate.

At school, he is a member of Key club, DECA, and FBLA.  For each of these clubs, he takes time in school and outside of school helping with events, volunteering, and contributing in many different ways to the clubs.  FBLA or Key club take up a lot more time outside of school because these clubs require the most hours.

Lacrosse is also one of Keate’s interests.  He played on the fossil lacrosse team as a freshman and is planning on playing on the team the rest of high school.  Before high school he has played lacrosse since he was 6 years old.  “It’s so fun to be on a team and play the sport you love.  Lacrosse at fossil is so awesome” said Keate.

At home, Keate lives with his mom, dad, and 3 siblings.  He is the oldest kid in his family.  He loves to be in the mountains with his family, doing fun and adventurous things.  “I love my family trips to disney world and our trips to steamboat.  Steamboat is probably my favorite place because it’s so beautiful and there is so much to do there.  If you haven’t been there, I would definitely recommend it” said Keate.

After high school Keate wants to attend BYU Provo because he has a lot of family in Utah and because the schools very cheap compared to other schools.  At BYU he wants to go into business and either major in computer sciences or business finance.  He wants to go into business so he can become “a CEO of a fortune 500 company.  I love computers, math and business which have led to my decisions on career choices”.  He has a lot of big goals for the future!

High school has been really awesome for Keate.  “my favorite part of high school has probably been making a ton of new friends.  I have met so many people since freshman year and it has been really cool” said Keate.  At school, his favorite class is Geography because he really likes his teacher, Mr. Carson.

If he had any advice to give to freshman he would say that, “you should have lots of fun in high school and work hard but don’t over work yourself”.

There where a couple spelling mistakes in the article and I would revise the amount of “being in the mountains” that was mentioned. I liked how in the end you asked him about school in contrast from the other info about what he likes and his family.

“It’s so fun to be on a team a play the sport you love.” This doesn’t make much sense. Did you mean to put that instead of a? Good article though.
