Little Ms. Know it all: A piece of advice

Under Stress

Dear Little Ms. Know it all,

My family is leaving early for spring break which is really stressing me out. The things that I really care about are getting pushed out of the picture because of all the stress. Why do teachers give big tests and projects on the week before spring break when they know that students will be gone? I have to take all of my tests after school so I can’t participate in activities that I already committed to. I’m really worried about the things I will be missing while I’m gone and I don’t think I will be able to enjoy my spring break because of the school I will be missing. I’m really worried and stressed. What should I do?

Stressed out

Dear Stressed out,

One of the best things you can do when you get super stressed is to communicate. Communicate with your teachers and parents and make sure they understand what you have to get done before you leave. That way they can help you, teachers can give extensions or try to space out all the tests you have to take. Communication is key, that way there is no confusion before your trip. Another thing to remember is that break is break, your brain needs a rest. If stress is something that will get in the way of your vacation, then make sure you will have internet access on your trip. You will be able to email teachers and check your grades so that way you can make sure everything looks the way you want it to. Also, remember that your teachers aren’t trying to make your life miserable, they have to fill a curriculum and stick to a schedule so that you learn everything you need to know. I hope you have a relaxing and fun spring break!
