Winning Regionals two years in a row

Winning Regionals two years in a row

Monday September 20th, was the regional tournament at Saddle Rock golf course. Four players from Fossil Ridges golf team participate. Josh Caridi shot a 73 placing in third overall, Dillon Stewart and Cam Lampe finished with a 74 tying for fourth place, and Jack Hastings shooting a 75. The team was five strokes over par and all of the players qualified for the State tournament in Grand junction Monday September, 26th.

”Regionals is a pressure filled tournament that can make or break your season so to win it two years in a row is very rewarding.”said Mr. Stevens. Fossils golf team has always seemed to steal the show whether it’s at a small tournament or having all the pressure on them for regionals. Since state is right around the corner the players are preparing in many different ways. “The team will practice this week at ptarmigan.  We played 9 holes yesterday and will just work on some fundamentals Thursday. We leave Saturday morning, so we will get in a few days of practice in Grand Junction before the tournament on Monday.” stated Stevens.

September 26th Fossils players head down to Grand Junction and will be playing at Bookcliff Country Club golf course. Wish your Saber cats good luck!
