LOVELAND — Fossil Ridge’s Marching Band took first place at 5A regionals earlier today at Thompson Valley High School.  After tonight, they will go on to perform at the state competition held on November 3 at U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium.

The marching band competed against rival bands from the Northern Colorado region, like Fairview, Legacy, Mountain Range and Loveland.

“Our regionals performance has set us up for a great standing for state this year.  The band brought their eagerness to perform to their best ability,” said senior Drum Major Annie Layden.

The band students are excited about their win against local schools.  “[Regionals] are when all the bands are starting to sound really good and there’s a very high level of energy in the performance, a kind of energy that you don’t get from many other things,” said senior Michael Bruxvoort.
