Boys basketball winter break recap
Over winter break, the Fossil Ridge boys basketball team had six league games while the majority of the school’s students were at home, enjoying their time off. The Cats currently have a (6-7-0) record, and hope to make a deep playoff run this season, after having been knocked out so early last year.
On December 21, the boys played Thomas Jefferson High School and lost (45-49) in a very close game; On December 22, they took on Fountain-Fort Carson High School and were able to walk away with a big (56-48) win; On the 23 of December, the team took the court against Pine Creek High School and suffered a (60-64) loss; The Sabercats kicked off the new year with a (67-56) win against Monarch High School on January 5, but unfortunately fell to Highlands Ranch High School (40-55).
Since school has been back in session, the team has had three games, one against Loveland High School and the other against Poudre High School, winning both (61-46) and (67-59) respectively. Fossil’s most recent game was on Tuesday, January 16, against Rocky Mountain High School (6-6-0) in which they had a huge win over the Lobos (47-37).
Come out and support the boys this Friday, January 19, as they take on Horizon High School at home at 6:30 P.M.
