Chocolate Book Club brings book lovers together
Eating chocolate and reading books is a classic combination for any book enthusiast to love. Chocolate book club does just that, during Tuesday lunch in room 515.
While currently reading Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, book three in The Infernal Devices series. The club has spent this year enjoying and understanding this fantasy series, sharing predictions, thoughts, and opinions. The fantasy genre has created particularly fascinating discussions, as crazy concepts and ideas add even more to the discussion. While preparing to wrap up this book, they are excited to branch out from this series and read something new.
Discussions cover everything about the book from character development to understanding plot. Ms. Fain, the club’s leader, normally brings a set of questions about the reading done since the last meeting. However, every member is encouraged to ask questions so everybody understands what is going on, while others bring passages to the conversations they want to highlight.
Cydney Foster, who attends meetings regularly, thinks her favorite part of Chocolate Book Club is, “reading books with other people and having a place where we can discuss them. It’s really interesting to see what they thought about it.”
Everyone is welcome in the chocolate book club, no matter their reading skills. Ms. Fain works hard to make sure the reading is paced well, to support both slow and fast readers. Come pay them a visit for discussion and community, as they look forward to starting a new book soon.
