Improv troupe hosts fundraiser show

Fossil Ridge High School’s improvisation troupe held a performance in the Black Box March 7, consisting of a demonstration of games. They took topic suggestions from the audience, and made things up on the spot.
Most students know about the drama program at Fossil, but few know about small groups within the program. The improv troupe was created a few years ago, and interest for improv skills in drama grew as the group did. It is now a highlight of Fossil’s theatre department, and it offers opportunities within the community.
The improv troupe offers extra performance opportunities and ways to get involved within the community. They were very excited to be asked to perform for Make-A-Wish Week. Megan Bean said, “We’ve become something larger than anything we had originally imagined, representing Fossil around the state and raising money for charity.”
In the future, the troupe’s goal is to be a creative community that promotes growth and team work. They focus not only on acting, but on working together. Improv troupe meets Wednesdays in the Black Box during late start, and is open to anyone who wants to join.
