Forensics team continues to place in competitions

Fossil Ridge High School Forensics competed at Greeley Central High School and Fort Collins High School during the last two weeks. Senior Shelby Whitson placed first in Congress at both Greeley and Fort Collins. Senior Jason Petty placed third in Greeley and first at FCHS in Lincoln-Douglas. “It was really exciting and exhilarating,” he said. “To have all that work pay off in the end was really nice.”

Petty and Jason Pyle both competed in the Public Forum at FCHS and placed second. “It was fun just hanging out with people because I have a lot of good friends on the debate team,” Pettysaid. “Getting to see all of them was really nice.”

Many other students competed and won several of their debate and interpretation rounds, but didn’t place. Congratulations to Mallory Hale, Heather Jones, Megan Rutberg, Shelby Witson, Grace Feng, Micah Zhang, XuSong Ho, and Allison Korasik.
