The Fossil Ridge volleyball team dominated the Fairview Knights, defeating them in three straight sets and outscoring them by forty points.

The Sabercats have now won three in a row and improved to 3-0 in league matchups.

“I think we’re finally getting a connection figured out, the first couple games we were figuring it out, but now it feels right…for me, it’s been building that bond with the setters. Now that we’ve started figuring that out, it’s time to make it happen,” said junior Delaney Ewing.

The 6’2” middle blocker was flying all over the court, making big plays around the net. This marks Ewing’s first full year on varsity, after playing occasionally last year.

“It’s great. I feel like I’ve earned my spot at this point. I’m really grateful to be here and be able to compete at this level with these girls,” Ewing said.

The Sabercats look to build on this momentum as they head into their match on the road next Tuesday against the Horizon Hawks. However, Fossil is also keeping the bigger picture in sight.

“I think we want to get to and compete at State, and then just have a really good connection with these girls for the rest of the year. We have a lot of potential as a team, a lot of talent and want to continue our legacy,” Ewing said.
