Annika Dahlke

Senior Annika Dahlke says that high fashion trends and designers inspire her outfits everyday.

“I’m really interested in, like looking at what’s really popular in designers, and then I kind of try to, like, translate that into my own kind of vibe. I guess,” Dahlke says.

“Unique” is the word she would use to describe her style. Dahlke likes brands like Vivian Westwood, Maison Margiela, and Isabel Marant, but her favorite place to shop is the secondhand clothing app, Depop.

Trends she is interested in right now include wedge sneakers and baggy jeans.

Beatrix Gold

Freshman Beatrix Gold spends time in Europe, and purchases most of her clothes there. She describes the clothes in Europe as “cheaper and better quality”, leading her to curating her closet from there.

Gold spends time finding outfit inspiration on Pinterest, and from her grandma.

“My grandma has a lot of the similar colors that I use, and then just regular designers, I guess the designer, I don’t know her name, but [the designer] in The Devil Wears Prada.”

Gold chooses to give her style the name “crafty”. She does a lot of DIY within her outfits.

Trends she likes right now include polka dots and hibiscus flowers.

Kara Laine

Fashion design and catering teacher Kara Laine takes inspiration from Hollywood icons such as Aubrey Hepburn.

The root of her outfits is staying authentic to who Laine is.

“ I don’t necessarily try to be trendy, but I have a lot of classic pieces that I like. I tend to buy more quality products and then figure out how to make them work within trendy items. And I’ve just always been, like, really into fashion, so it’s kind of cool I get to teach it too.”

Laine describes her style as casual but consistent. She works at Ivy Boutique in Downtown Fort Collins, which helps curate her outfits.

“But I don’t buy from Shein and like fast fashion places like seeing, like the practices, the quality, and also the labor environments for those people,” Laine says.

Statham Lee

Statham Lee, a senior at Fossil, emulates his outfits after Wisdom Kaye and other Instagram fashion influencers. He is currently liking trends including baggy jeans with a tighter fitting top.

Lee likes being authentic with what he wears.

“…being able to know that what I’m wearing is how I want to project myself to other people, and it just makes me feel fulfilled,” Lee said.

Some of his favorite designers include German designer Mona Thomas.

“She has a brand called Huni, and that’s probably one of my favorites that she’s made.”

Sophomore Savannah Coombs likes current trends such as zig-zag headbands, Brandy Melville shirts, and low rise jeans. She describes her style as fun.

“Sometimes I like to see outfits in the hall and like to copy them. But other than that, I just like to throw random stuff together.”

Coombs chooses to buy her clothes from Shein.
