Calling all heroes, this year’s homecoming theme is City of Heroes. In past years it has been destination themes, like Egyptians or Lost Island. This year, Student Council chose superheroes because its “new, current, and relatable” said Sophie Lafayette. Students can expect a large super themed Metropolis with a villain’s corner, Stark Industries, and the Batman signal flashing around the room. According to StuCo the DJ will be better this year than in past years. Candy will also be offered at the dance.
Tickets are $18 with an activity pass, and $20 without and will be sold the week of Oct. 7h and will also be sold at the door for $23 with a pass, and $25 without. The proceeds will go to both paying off the expenses for the dance as well as creating a budget for the rest of the year’s school sponsored events such as Wednesday Night Live, Mr. and Mrs. FRHS, Powder puff and more.
As for spirit days, Oct. 7 is Pajama day, but make sure to wear school appropriate PJs. Oct. 8 will be Colorado Day and time to bust out your State pride. Oct. 9 is Fossil Ridge High School Spirit day, Oct. 10is Hippie Day, and Oct. 11 will be Superhero day. StuCo picked the spirit days by voting for what they thought would be the most fun and interesting for students to dress up in. The Bonfire will take place Oct. 9 and the Homecoming assembly as well as the Homecoming game will take place Oct. 11.
