Google Fiber: A Whole New World of Internet?

Google, with its ever expanding horizons, has introduced a new product: Google Fiber. Don’t be misled; the technological empire has not decided to start selling high-energy fiber bars, but rather a revolutionary high speed Internet service that is the fastest that we have seen so far. Say goodbye to your slow Comcast Internet carriers and hello to Google Fiber.

What is Google Fiber? The technology uses hundreds of fiber optic cables that are placed under the ground in select areas to broadcast Internet and TV services to your modem box that are faster than any other in the world. How is that possible? Well, Google Fiber runs at 1000 Mb per second, which is 100 times faster than the competing Wi-Fi and high speed Internet carriers. Not so high speed anymore. This means that you will no longer have to wait for HD YouTube videos to buffer, and uploading and downloading files will be increased by 1,000 percent, turning a two-hour download into a two-minute download.

In addition to the high speed Wi-Fi bit of the deal, Google Fiber also gives you two terabytes of storage in the Cloud. The Cloud is an online storage database that you can access from any of your Google devices. Two terabytes is the equivalent to 2,000 GB of storage, which would be like buying 250 eight  gigabyte flash drives from Target. The cloud storage allows for users to keep music, movies, TV shows, games, and pictures all in one easily accessible place.

If you are not a fan of downloading your content, Google Fiber TV offers almost 200 HD channels and compatibility with Netflix, Hulu, and more, as well as a full library of On Demand TV shows and movies.
