What’s what for homecoming 2012

Students of Fossil Ridge High School, it is time to get excited. Excited for what you may ask? Is it a football game? Is it a pep assembly? Is it getting to dress up crazily? Is it a big dance? Actually, you should be excited for all of those things because it’s Homecoming week!

This year, we will not be spending a night in the orient or a night under the big top, we will actually be taken to aLostIsland. The gym will be covered with elaborate decorations that automatically bring you into a jungle where a giant ship has been wrecked. You will dive into a world of volcanoes and trees, tiki torches and treasure chests,

and a night you will never forget.

So why should you come to Homecoming this year? Aside from decorations (Student Council members Caleb Gustin and Morgan Hoog even mentioned wiping a Denver party shop clean of their beach décor) the music is also something to look forward to since Student Council has hired a new DJ. There will also be numerous door prizes, from gift cards to local restaurants to candy. Glow sticks, dim lights, and more speakers are also some new additions to this year’s dance.

This year’s assembly will be more traditional, with a larger focus on school spirit. The homecoming court will still be a primary part of the assembly, though, and court members will all be in theme appropriate attire – think shipwreckedesque.

Homecoming is going to be a great experience due to the hard work from the Student Council members. Just in case you missed any piece of information, here’s a summary:
