Tyler Kleine, Sports Writer

Tyler is a senior at Fossil Ridge, in his first year of journalism. He was previously part of the Ridge TV program here, but decided to focus on his sports writing instead of sports commentating. He enjoys covering basketball over the other sports but is willing to try other areas.

Tyler currently lives with his in Fort Collins but was born in Canton, Georgia and has moved around a bit before settling here. He enjoys the seasons and mountains of Colorado and says “there are so many different activities to do here all year long, it’s amazing the opportunities Colorado presents to us.”

Tyler’s favorite subject in school is “Oh that’s easy, German in a landslide.” He enjoys the friendships he has made in that class and says “I owe most of my joy at Fossil to Frau Healy, she teaches you not only German but also life skills for outside of the classroom.”

Outside of writing Tyler enjoys spending his time playing either basketball or video games with his family and friends. He is very passionate about sports and enjoys watching almost every sport at all levels. He has two siblings a younger brother Hayden and a twin sister Lauren, who plays on the girls basketball team.

Tyler plans on attending either Metro State University or Colorado State University to study Forensics Anthropology in the hopes of becoming a crime scene investigator. He enjoys watching scary movies and also listening to scary stories as well. Tyler enjoys listening to every genre of music besides K-Pop.

He is excited to be a part of the Etched in Stone team and looks forward to improving his sports writing while also getting involved in other beats.
