Fossil Ridge experienced on-going offensive struggle Friday night against Rocky Mountain, losing 19-6. It seems that FRHS has fallen into a win/lose pattern this season.
The Cats didn’t get on the score board until the beginning of the fourth quarter. Dante Randolph stepped in at running back due to injury to senior RB and slot receiver, Cole Schilling. Randolph ran it in from the 10-yard line, but the PAT was unsuccessful.
The Lobos were an unstoppable force last night led by senior RB Cade Hairgrove. Hairgrove had three touchdowns on the night, racking up more than 100-yards just in the first quarter.
Fossil was down 19-0 at the start of the third quarter and demonstrated a hard fight throughout the fourth. Soph. Tanner Hoke came in for QB Griffin Roberts and got the offense rolling. He led a touchdown drive that was finsihed off by Randolph’s run into the end-zone.
“Even though we lost tonight, I really liked what I saw from everyone,” said Randolph. “Every play I felt like we were close to capitalizing on something. Once we put everything together, we’ll be something special.”
The Sabercat’s defense played well in the second half of the game, allowing only one touchdown. Fossil has struggled on offense against both Fort Collins, and Rocky Mountain.
Fossil Ridge will have another city face-off this coming Friday night against Poudre.
