Sami Steffeck, a current senior who is planning to play basketball at South Dakota School of Mines and Tech next year is a four year varsity basketball player at the Ridge. She got her start when her mom signed her up for the Windsor rec league in second grade.
Sami, along with being a basketball aficionado is a lover of all things Dance Moms the television show. She plans on playing basketball next year at SDSMT majoring in industrial engineering and management. She describes herself as hardworking, personable, honest and kind. When asking her what friends have influenced her the most she states her teammates. “They have always pushed me to want to be better, and to work harder. To accomplish every goal I set for myself and trust that I can do it.”
Her parents have always stayed true to pushing her and helping her to do her best and work as hard as she can to reach every goal; whether in the gym, in school or in life. Basketball, after many years of hard work has given her the opportunity to obtain a great education on a full ride athletic scholarship. She hopes she makes an impact on her college team in the future and become a better player.
Sami is an individual that usually seems quiet and reserved, but when she is on the court she is reborn into a colorful captain who has led her team to many victories in the last few years.
