Ryan Cronin, a pretty well known student here at Fossil, was glad to share a bit about his life with me in this last week before winter break. With a family of four, consisting of his father Jay, mother Dana, and an older brother Shea, who graduated from Fossil last year and now attends the University of Arizona, Cronin has had so many positive influences in his life. More than anything they have all influenced his love for sports.
Ryan plays football here at Fossil and last year played baseball which he won’t be continuing with this year. Having been on the football team since his freshman year he said, “It has been an amazing experience so far. Three years with these boys and since the very first day I have considered them my brothers.” Outside of school Cronin enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and often goes snowboarding with both. “My friends are one of my greatest values, they have made me who I am today and there is never a dull moment with them.”
Born in Fair view Heights, Illinois, he then moved to Indiana and finally to Colorado when he was three. “I had a great childhood and a lot of fun memories. “I remember playing football outside with my dad and my brother as we were growing up, and just looking back on the little things like that reminds me of how grateful I am to have the family and life that I do.” He commented about that along with the many memories he has of his childhood. One of his recent favorites was going to the Blake Shelton concert this summer, which he expressed was one of the best nights of his life. Another more recent memory was when the Fossil Ridge High School football team played Monarch High School for the homecoming game during his sophomore year, “It was one of the craziest games I had every played in and it’s a memory that will last my entire life.”
Cronin has had a great high school experience so far, and has loved every second of it. Playing football for the school has been one of his favorite parts, also the amount of amazing memories he has made here and the people he’s met along the way. “I always heard that it goes by quickly, but it just hit me, how fast the time has really gone by once I realized I am pretty much one semester away from being a senior.”
Hoping to attend the University of Arizona, Cronin wants to major in the business field but has not fully decided yet. With one and half more years of high school left, he plans on making the most out of everything, and is looking forward to what the next chapters of his life hold for him.
