No. 10 Fossil Ridge gives No. 7 Fairview their third loss of the season

The Fossil Ridge High School Sabercats took care of the game on Friday, February 3 against Fairview High School by upsetting the Knights 68-66.

The starting five included Mckenna Schultz, Katey Guzman, Reilly Dunn, and Brit Mishak. Their offense clicked and allowed for the Sabercats to score a high amount of points in the first half. Fossil went up 34-27 at half, Steffeck had 9 and Schultz had 7.

The third quarter was huge for the Sabercats as they went on a 10-0 rally against Fairview and helped push their lead further to 55-41 going into the final quarter of the game.

The Knights fought hard in the fourth quarter to try and capture the lead but the Sabercats were able to hang on and finish the game with a 68-66 win. In the last seconds of the game the star player for Fairview attempted to hit a three point buzzer beater to take the win but missed, handing the win over to Fossil.

Steffeck had a successful night, ending the game with a total of 23 points. Schultz had 12 and Guzman and Mishak both had 9. These four players lead the team to win their fourth consecutive game. Their next game is away against Boulder High School on Tuesday, February 7.

    I really enjoyed how you included the scores that the four girls made separately. And I like how you talked about the last few minutes in the game and how the other team was close to scoring.

    Good article with good information about when and where it was, who won and the score. Gives good insight on multiple players and some of their stats.
