Unified Flag Football plays hard against the Lobos
Fossil Ridge High School’s unified flag football team played crosstown rivals, Rocky Mountain High School, on Wednesday, October 11. With all of the players trying their hardest, the sabercats won the game, 38 to 28. During half time the unified cheerleaders performed a routine and put smiles upon the crowds faces. Whitney Kissel, a senior, volunteers as a player to help organize the unified team during the games. “ I think Unified sports are important for students with disabilities because it gives them an opportunity to play those sports at their level and against other teams which provide a competitive aspect. It gives them a chance to play with their classmates and it helps them form relationships with students both on and off the field/court.” Kissel stated.
